Fardowsa Nor works as a Project Coordinator for the Center for Health and Social Research which is part of the Institute of Community Health Promotion.
Fardowsa’s primary responsibilities include coordinating efforts to support the West Side and Black Rock community in Buffalo with identifying and implementing prevention strategies to address alcohol and substance use/abuse, particularly among the youth. She also works closely with community members to ensure that the unique cultures and diversity of those residing in the West Side and Black Rock community are maintained and celebrated. With that, she also promotes pro-social activities and health education within the community to address issues that contribute to vulnerabilities to substance use and addiction.
Fardowsa received her Bachelor’s of Science in Public Health with a minor in African American Studies and Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is pursuing her Doctor of Public Health degree from Mercer University with a concentration in Diverse Populations and Health Equity.
