Jennifer Loft is a Substance Abuse Prevention Coordinator at the Center for Health and Social Research (CHSR). She manages the day-to-day activities of the 5-year, $625,000 College Environmental Prevention grant that SUNY Buffalo State received from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS). The goals of this grant include developing and implementing strategies that will lead to long-term involvement of community institutions, organizations, and individuals in college underage drinking and substance abuse prevention.
Additionally, Jennifer has three years of experience working with community-based organizations where she provided comprehensive sexuality education to youth in the Buffalo public school district, as well as training and support to both youth and adults on women’s reproductive health and fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.
She holds a BA in Psychology (2010), MA in Global Gender Studies (2012), and completed her coursework and comprehensive exams for a PhD in Global Gender Studies (2015), all from the University at Buffalo.
Her special interests include women’s sexual and reproductive health, sexual assault and gender-based violence, violence against Indigenous women, and trauma and healing.
