Dr. Lindner is the Senior Coordinator of Community Health Programs for Center for Health and Social Research at SUNY Buffalo State University where he focuses on projects to improve community health through prevention programs directed at changing individual behaviors and community-level factors. He has a doctoral degree in Higher Education Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University, and an M.S. degree in Health Promotion and Wellness. Additionally, he is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES), and teaches applied learning courses in the Health, Nutrition, and Department at SUNY Buffalo State. In 2011, he was awarded “Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member” and presented with a letter of congressional recognition In 2016, he developed a student health ambassador program as a means of providing future health professionals with the opportunity to function as educators and liaisons between the Health, Nutrition, and Dietetics department and Buffalo State students. In 2017, he became a Certified Peed Educator Trainer for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). Most recently, in 2020, Dr. Lindner was awarded the “Mid-Career Faculty Award for Community Engagement” from the Office of Civic and Community Engagement at SUNY Buffalo State.
Dr. Lindner currently provides oversight to state and federal prevention initiatives including; the Office of National Drug Control Policy Drug Free Communities (DFC) Support Program, and the NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) College Environmental Prevention Grant.
